Have you ever seen this hotel? It’s gigantic. It looks like a sail on the sea, and that is no accident. The Burj Al Arab hotel was designed to look like an Arabian vessel called a dhow. This hotel is an iconic symbol of Dubai. It’s the only 7-star hotel in the entire world, and it’s the 2nd tallest hotel in the world. Rates for suites start at $1,000 USD and go up to $28,000 USD per night. The most expensive suite is the Royal Suite. For $28k, I hope it’s everything you could ever dream of. And even though the entire world is in an economic meltdown of sorts, the Burj Al Arab hotel in UAE continues to book rooms at standard rates (details). Typically after reading an article like that, I would probably go into some economics rant, relating price to demand and supply and such. But really, who cares?
